Some EPOS IT key players attended the “Virtual Research Environments (VRE) workshop: "What services should they offer and what e-infrastructures should provide to support them”, which was held on February 27th and 28th 2018 at the CNR campus in Pisa (Italy).
The main objectives of the VRE and RDA workshop were to bring together experts from complementary domains to discuss what cores services VREs should provide to facilitate collaborative research activities and to identify the services that e-Infrastructures should make available to support them. EPOS architecture has been presented during the workshop.
The outcome will be beneficial for all the research infrastructures and other initiatives that at the moment are tackling the issue of developing VREs. In particular, it will be used as an input to the design of the Architecture of the European Science Cloud. A report of the workshop will be produced.
