The 28th-30th September 2016, EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) Europe have organized in Krakow (Poland) the Digital Infrastructures for Research 2016 conference (DI4R2016), three days of brainstorming and discussions with the main goal to foster broader adoption of digital infrastructure services and promote user-driven innovation. Some co-located events took place on 26th and 27th September 2016 at the same venue.
EPOS has provided its contribution on this topic promoting the re-use and interoperation of existing resources provided by different e-Infrastructure providers scattered over Europe.
A first oral “EPOS Competence Center - a pilot on using a common e-Infrastructure for accessing and processing Earth Science Data” described the EGI Competence Center pilot use cases on a) the urgent topic of AAI integration and delegation in a complex Research Infrastructure environment, and b) a computational oriented use case, dealing with the usage, from user’s side, of a computational seismology tool which orchestrates the access to data and to computational resources on behalf of the user.
The second EPOS contribution, “EPOS use case on top of EGI/EUDAT coupled resources- Misfit analysis”, had the aim to describe how it is possible to improve the back-end services of an existing Virtual Research Environment in the field of Computational Seismology.
