EPOS Volcano Observations Thematic Core Services team will be attending to the WOVOdat workshop "How to Optimize the Use of Volcano Monitoring Database" that will be held in Yogyakarta (Indonesia) from the 26th to the 29th of November 2018.
The participants to the workshop are worldwide national agencies involved in the volcano monitoring and the management of volcanic risk.
During the workshop the cooperation and synergies between VO-TCS and WOVOdat will be analysed, in line with a preliminary discussion had during the recent CoV 10 in Naples (September 2018). The VO-TCS will report the experience on the management of the European multidisciplinary volcanological datasets in the frame of EPOS. One of the key points of the VO-TCS contribution will be the link between EPOS and EUROVOLC. Some providers of the VO-TCS, as IPGP, IMO and INGV, will also present case studies of volcanic unrest and eruption monitoring.
- Brainstorming and discussion on how WOVOdat system will be used and useful during volcano crisis, for eruption forecasting.
- Exchange experiences between volcano observatory on using WOVOdat as their monitoring database.
- New tools developed by WOVOdat team: installation and operational.
- Future development and plan of WOVOdat.
