The first year of operations of the ARISTOTLE-ENHSP project “European Natural Hazard Scientific Partnership” was successfully concluded.

ARISTOTLE-ENHSP provides the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) with 24*7 expert advice at global and European levels on different hazards: earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, floods, extreme weather conditions, and fires.

The project, co-coordinated by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), is funded by the Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG-ECHO) and comprises operational centres belonging to 14 European scientific institutions and two international organizations operating in the field of geophysics and meteorology.

With 34 activations worldwide and 145 monitoring reports issued in the first twelve months of activity,

ARISTOTLE-ENHSP is preparing to enter the next year of service with the aim of continuing to support preparedness and response activities of the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) within the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
